Kagome, the same company that gave us Eva Unit 01 piercing a giant tomato, is introducing two new mascots for its meat sauce. The first of the pair of fairy-themed characters was introduced at the Nico Nico Chōkaigi 2017 event last April. “Napoli-tan,” a personification of the popular Napolitan pasta dish, is voiced by Haruka Yoshimura (Shirobako‘s Ema Yasuhara).

Napoli-tan has her work cut out for her because Kagome is introducing a rival sauce character, “Miito Sōsui” or literally, Commander-in-Chief Meat. Miito Sōsui is voiced by Maaya Uchida (High School DxD‘s Irina Shidō). The characters and their respective voice actresses will face off at the Chō Ryōri (Super Cooking) Booth at this year’s Nico Nico Chōkaigi event on April 29.

Napoli-tan’s bio describes her as a fairy born to fill everyone’s hearts and tummies with Napolitan pasta. Her costume takes regular elements from the dish, like pepper and friend eggs and incorporates them into the color scheme.

Miito Sōsui is described as a spirit instead of a fairy. She was born to convey the wonder of meat sauce. Her key colors are red and born and her hair is the color of pasta.

Kagome’s booth will also sell its sauces and cooking supplies. Last year, Kagome’s line queue was 30 minutes long and its Napolitan dish using Kagome ketchup sold out. This year the booth will also sell frying pans and offering character stickers to customers and diners.
