Community Article: Henshin! Idol form!

Hey all! I’m rather new around these parts and the idol scene in general. Although I’m afraid that this article doesn’t contain any new stuff in terms of idols. But I though I’d start off by writing about something I know well. Kamen Rider! Yes, the long running Japanese kids television series. But this isn’t so much about the riders themselves. This article is here to talk about Idols, in Kamen Rider. Some of you may know who I’m going to mention in this article. Though, I doubt these are all the idols who have made appearances in Kamen...

AKB48 Request Hour Set List Best 100 2012

AKB48 Request Hour Set List Best 100 2012 was quite the anticipated event. Hearing news about the move to a larger venue and removing subunit songs for a separate concert was quite the delightful surprise. Of course, news about no graduated members returning to perform caused a commotion as well and there were mixed feelings going into Request Hour this year. What songs would retain their titles? What songs would drop entirely off the list? Which members would perform which songs? What song was going to win #1? We at NSK had feelings that the top contenders were going to be either Flying Get, Everyday Kachuusha, or  Heavy Rotation. Read on to find out what happened! As for the list of songs that ranked, here it is: 100. Theater no Megami (B5) 99. Pajama Drive (B3 – Watanabe, Nakagawa, Hirajima) 98. Dakishimeraretara (K5 – Kasai, Kuramochi, Sato N) 97. Dear my Teacher (A1 – line-up from A5, Takajo center) 96. Anata ga ite kureta kara 95. AKB Sanjou! (A5 – Old A + Sato S, Matsui S, Nakatsuka, Nonaka subbing other positions) 94. Higurashi no Koi (H1 – Takahashi M, Masuda Y) 93. Wasshoi E! (E1) 92. High School Days 91. Kataomoi no Taikakusen (B4 – Nito, Komori, Yonezawa) 90. Seifuku Resistance (K6 – Itano, Yokoyama, Nakatsuka in Nito’s position) 89. To be continued (K5 – No Ohori nor Noro though) 88. 16nin shimai no uta (K4...

Second Generation NSK Member Added: t3hDave

Hey everybody, I’m Dave. As a long time reader of New School Kaidan, I am honored to have been invited to write for the site. I like the idea of an idol fandom community and the interaction involved especially with what NSK has been doing in the past year. A little bit about myself; I’m a typical geeky and/or nerdy guy. I spend way too much time at the computer. I used to be a hardcore Anime nerd and due to this obsession, I studied Japanese for a bit in college. In 2009, I saw Morning Musume live at Anime Expo and fell in love with them. In 2010, I saw AKB48 live at Anime Expo and fell (even more?) in love with them. I am currently enjoying idols. Namida Surprise is the best song ever. I used to post really long annoying comments about the NSK podcasts and started checking out the broadcasts and that’s when I started talking with Dae, David, and Tron. We met at Anime Expo 2011 and we’ve been keeping in touch since then. I’m hoping to contribute to the site and I thank all the readers and fans out there for their support. Sincerely,...
