AKB48 members have a history of airing in several dramas, such as Majisuka Gakuen. They’ve tried their hand at horror before in AKB48 Horror Nights and they’ll be doing once again in the new horror suspense drama, Crow’s Blood.
Starring in the show will be AKB48’s Watanabe Mayu and HKT48/AKB48’s Miyawaki Sakura. Several other members of the 48 groups such as Matsui Jurina and Yokoyama Yui, to name a few, will also be featured on the drama. The series is directed by Ryo Nishimura, written by Yasushi Akimoto, and interestingly enough, produced by Darren Lynn Bousman.
Crow’s Blood centers around strange occurrences at an all-girls school after a mysterious new student transfers in. Not much else regarding the story has been released but it has been stated that the drama will aim to tackle the controversial topic of resurrection.
Some of the previous AKB48 dramas have gotten a reputation for being cheesy but looking at fan reactions, Crow’s Blood, is genuinely scary! The reactions have been positive so far and many fans are looking forward to it. However, for us oversea fans, the show is currently only available on Hulu Japan and an international version with subtitles doesn’t seem to be in the near future.
To find out more about Crow’s Blood, be sure to check out the official site and catch it on Hulu Japan!
