Animation studio GONZO has seen some things over its 25 year history. During its heyday, it created memorable anime like Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo, GANTZ, Vandread, Red Garden, Rosario + Vampire, and Last Exile. Sure, there were some clunkers in there (Dragonaut – The Resonance, anyone?) but the this storied studio still holds a special place in a lot of anime fans’ hearts.

GONZO is marking its 25 years in the business with an exhibition in Tokyo, set to launch next week at the Yurakucho Marui department store. The exhibition will focus on Gonzo’s highlights, namely Last Exile -Fam, The Silver Wing-, Gankutsuou, Samurai 7, and Romeo × Juliet. Production materials from the series will be on display with narration by The Count himself, Joji Nakata.

Visitors can purchase original goods at the event and if over 3,000 yen is spent, visitors can enter a lottery to win signed shikishi and other items.

Gonzo is currently producing the short-form comedy anime Space Battleship Tiramisu. The studio’s next work, the net anime Calamity of the Zombie Girl, will premiere in July.
